The Logitech team looks forward to once again participating in the Scottish Geology Trusts Scottish Geology Festival. We look forward to holding an online demo and webinar of our Large Format Geology Thin Section Preparation, taking place at 2pm on Thursday 3rd October 2024.
Join our process engineers, who have over 30 years experience serving our valued customers/partners, as they walk through the step-by-step process – from slabbing and trimming of field specimen, impregnation, all the way to final stage polishing, focussing on large format specimens up to 100×150 mm.
You will learn routes to success in thin section preparation for geological materials including rock, coal, concrete, soils and fluid inclusions.
As in previous years, the event will include opportunities for knowledge transfer on the skills and techniques of thin section preparation, as well as the preparation of high-quality petrographic sections and surfaces for microscopy analysis. This includes sample cutting, resin impregnation and stabilization, grinding, lapping, and polishing for EBSD, EMP, TEM, and SEM
