Mechanical Design Engineer

Based in Old Kilpatrick, Logitech Ltd has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our market leading precision materials technology company.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this position will be responsible for:

• Devising and developing new products and modifying existing designs in partnership with our electrical and electronic engineers
• Producing accurate design and ERP documentation to allow for manufacturing and assembly
• Building and testing of prototypes
• Identifying and evaluating new materials, methods and suppliers
• Improving product quality
• Providing cross functional technical support

Ideal Skills and qualifications:

• Qualified to degree level or similar in a Mechanical design or Product design engineering discipline
• A minimum of 3 years experience in a mechanical design role
• Experience of designing within a high value, low volume manufacturing environment
• Experience in the design of electro-pneumatic and electro-mechanical systems
• Substantial 3D CAD experience, Solidworks preferred
• Experience in using design tools and calculations to establish expected performance
• Knowledge of legislative requirements and other standards with experience in establishing compliance.
• Proven problem-solving skills
• Able to work with a cross-functional team
