Logitech Laboratory Improvements – Phase 1
11th May 2021
Logitech Ltd. are dedicated to continuous development. From product and technology improvements, internal facilities upgrades or staff development – we are always looking for ways to improve our customer’s user experience from start to finish.
We have recently undertaken some exciting developments within the Logitech Laboratories. We have had installation of a new, upgraded air compressor. Previously, the lab utilised an air compressor generator to feed the air supply for the operation of all pneumatics on our pieces of equipment in our laboratories. Individual nitrogen (N2) bottles were also hooked up one by one to supply the use of N2 on our systems, mainly for the use of drying samples in CMP processes.
The new air compressor system also feeds a new N2 generator, meaning we can supply all equipment with both CDA and N2 in a much larger capacity than we previously could. We have also seen installation of a new vacuum pump, allowing for sample chucking on our systems (previously multiple VS2 units were utilised around the lab).
This gives us the facility to have a larger capacity of systems in the lab than we did previously and also greatly reduces the contamination risks from facilities. We also see less issues with reduced MTBF/MTTR. Giving us a cleaner, more productive workspace for customer training and process development.
The next phase of our laboratory upgrade will see the mains upgraded and also the introduction of an upgraded lab layout – with customised rooms for each lab function.
For those who have visited us, you will know we currently have dedicated lab facilities for Geological Thin Section Preparation, CMP, Test & Measurement as well as the main lab with all of our main product line systems and bonding systems. Stay tuned for updates on the progress of the development of our lab space.
