Chemical Mechanical Polishing of Thin Film Diamond

Cardiff University was founded in 1883 and is established as one of Britain’s leading universities.

The School of Physics and Astronomy at Cardiff University has been a client of Logitech since 2006.

They are currently processing nanocrystalline diamond on a Logitech Tribo CMP tool.

The CMP Tribo has been very successful at the school and was used for the polishing of NCD films in a recent project with Cardiff University, Imperial College London and The University of Oxford.

Chemical Mechanical Polishing of Thin Film Diamond

The demonstration that Nanocrystalline Diamond (NCD) can retain the superior Young’s modulus (1,100 GPa) of single  crystal  diamond  twinned  with  its  ability  to  be grown at  low  temperatures (
