Logitech Ltd., Based in Old Kilpatrick, Glasgow, has a vacancy for an experienced Mechanical Assembly Fitter.
Logitech Ltd. is a world leader in the design and manufacture of precision lapping and polishing systems. Our products are used in the Semiconductor, Optical and Geological industries.
The successful candidate will be time served, able to work to tight specified tolerances and capable of producing high quality work. The ability to read and work from technical drawings and schematics is essential.
You will be working in a tight-knit production team assembling a highly varied range of precision lapping, polishing and cutting equipment for semiconductor, geological and optical engineering applications. You will be involved in the mechanical assembly of often bespoke equipment, making the role highly varied month to month.
The successful candidate will be:
- A time served mechanical fitter, with prior experience of assembling electro-mechanical products.
- Capable of utilising manual machining and hand tools during the build process.
- Computer literate, able to search for and utilise electronic data from MRP and Cad data management systems.
- Able to demonstrate finesse and an eye for detail during production to ensure our products retain their aesthetic requirements alongside their functional accuracy.
Whilst the role is mechanical in nature and the successful candidate must have a track record in Mechanical assembly, additional prior experience in electrical assembly (panel wiring etc.), CNC turning/ milling, or programming of PLC’s and electrical hardware, would be a distinct advantage, although not essential.
The successful candidate will be expected to work to high quality, safety and environmental standards, ensuring equipment, supplies and records are well maintained.
An excellent hourly rate, generous pension contributions and good working conditions are offered. Your working hours will be 37 hours per week, Mon-Thu 7.30am to 5:15pm. Hours outside this are paid at time and a half. Overtime is frequently available, typically worked on a Friday.
